The bill as amended -was then read a second time, and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading,
The bill, entitled an Act to refund to George W. Oldham,
of Cecil county, a certain sum of money erroneously paid into
the Treasury,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for &
third reading.
The bill, entitled an Act to authorize the Comptroller of
the Treasury to pay Asbury McNamara a certain amount of
money from the Oyster fund, for damages and loss sustained
while under arrest by the Oyster Police Force,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed, for a.
third reading.
The bill, entitled an Act to authorize the County Commis-
sioners of Anne Arundel county to subscribe to the capital
stock of the Baltimore and Drum Point Railroad Company,
Being upon a second reading,
Mr. Duvall submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 1, line 3, strike out the word "empowered," and.
insert in lieu thereof, the word "required."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Stone submitted the following amendment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 3, line 2, strike out the word "State."
Which was adopted.
The bill, as amended, was then read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.
The bill, entitled an Act to add an additional section to Arti-
cle LXXXI, of the Code of Public General Laws of this
State, title "Revenue and Taxes," under the sub-title "Assess-
ment of Stock for State purposes,"
Being upon a second reading,
Mr. Stone submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
After the word "section," in line 5, insert "149."
Which was adopted.
The bill, as amended, was then read a second time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
