Mr. Riggs presented the petition of Priscilla Grimes, asking for a pension. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions. Mr. Groome presented the petition of Lyttleton D. Jor- dan, and one hundred and one other residents of Cecil county, asking the passage of a law allowing each election district to decide it liquor shall be sold therein. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. Mr. Eareckson,, presented the petition of B. O. Coppage, Joseph E. George, J. W. E. Sudler, S, T. Bradley, and thirty-four other citizens of Queen Anne's county, asking the passage of a law for the better protection of partridges in that county. Which was read and referred to a Select Committee, coa- sisting of Messrs. Ford, of Queen Anne's, and Wilmer. Mr. Jamart presented the petition of H. Duvall, and forty- six other citizens, asking the abolishment of coopering in the Penitentiary. Which read and referred to the Committee on Manufactures. Mr. Street presented the petition of Henry S. Condon, and forty-four others, asking the passage of a law to provide for the weighing of grain. Which was read and referred to a Select Committee al- ready appointed on that subject. Mr. Shipley presented the petition of Wm. A. Hook, Jud-son C. Mettam, and others, asking the repeal of the law pro- hibiting stock from running at large near Pikesville. Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county delegation. Mr. Porter presented the petition of E. Fuller, and sixty others, citizens of Allegany county, asking the renewal,, etc., of the charter of the Cumberland and Somerset Turnpike Road Company. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpor- ations. |
