AMENDMENT PROPOSED : Section 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take ef- fect from the date of its passage. The amendment was adopted, And the bill, as amended, read a second time. Also, The Senate bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 93, of Article LXXXI, of the Code of Public General Laws, en- titled " Revenue and Taxes," and to enact the following sec- tion in lieu thereof, reported back the same with proposed amendment. AMENDMENT PROPOSED. Strike out all of section 1, after the word "State," in line 23. The amendment was adopted, and the bill, as amended, was read B second time. Mr. Foster, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations, reported favorably, A bill, entitled an Act to incorporate the Maryland Acad- emy of Art, Which, was read a first time. Also, reported back without amendment, The House bill, entitled an Act to incorporate the Board of Managers of the Dolan Children's Aid Society, under the charge of the Young Catholics' Friend Society, of Baltimore. Which was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed. for ft third reading. Mr. Spencer, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported favorably, A bill, entitled an Act to prevent stock running at large in and around Waver by, in Baltimore county. Which was read a first time. Mr. H. H. Lamotte, Chairman of a Select Committee, re- ported favorably, — A bill, entitled an Act to extend the civil jurisdiction of justices of the Peace for Carroll county. |
