40 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 11,. our opinion, to change the mode of presenting bills, passed by the General Assembly, to the Executive for his signature. We also deem it necessary to have Joint Rules to govern the two Houses in their official intercourse with each other. We, therefore, respectfully propose the appointment of a Joint Committee of six, three on the part of each House, to inquire into and report what changes, if any are necessary in the premises, and to prepare and report such Joint Rules. as they, in their judgment, may deem necessary and proper. We have appointed on the part of the Senate, Messrs. Stephenson, Wilson, and Dennis. By order, AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY, Secretary. Which was read. Also the following, BY THE SENATE, January 11,1872. Gentlemen of the House of Delegates : We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable Body, to proceed to the election of State Treasurer to-day, at 2 o'clock, P. M. We have appointed Messrs.
