Mr. Groome presented the petition of Rev. S. A. Galey, and two hundred and nine other residents of Cecil county, asking the passage of a law allowing each election district to decide for itself whether or not liquor shall be sold therein. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. Mr. Stone presented the petition of sundry citizens of Charles county, praying for the passage of a dog law. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri- culture. Mr. Hardcastle presented the petition of Britton D. Evans, Joel Pippons, and one hundred and twenty others, citizens of Caroline and Queen Anne's counties, asking for a law to prohibit the sale of liquor within three miles of Bridgetown, in Caroline county. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. Also, The petition of R. B. Culbreth, John T. Downes, and thirty-four others, citizens of Caroline county, asking for the repeal of the present fence law ; also, the passage of a law to prevent hogs from running at large in Henderson district of said county. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri- culture. Mr. Butler presented the petition of sundry citizens and tax payers, of Talbot county, praying that the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad be taxed, and also requiring said Coin puny to pay into the State Treasury, the amounts found and (decreed by the Courts to be justly due the State, and wrongfully and illegally withheld by said Company.
