' 387 > Mr. Kirk presented the petition of six hundred and seven Democratic voters of Frederick city, asking the passage of the bill now pending before the House, for re-districting the city. and providing a Registry .Law. Which was read and referred to the Select Committed already appointed on (hat subject. Mr. Miller presented the petitions of Ezra Houck, Francis Markell, Gideon Bantz, and six hundred and twenty-six other white citizens of Frederics city, asking for a Registration Act for said city, and protesting against the hill now pend-ing before the General Assembly, which re-districts-said city, and increase the number of wards. Which was read, and referred to the Select Committee already appointed on that subject. Mr. Stewart presented the petition of Chas. Vogel and two hundred and ninety-one citizens of Baltimore, asking for the abolishing of shoemaking in the Penitentiary. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Manu- factures. Mr. Scott presented a petition from John M. Colby and one hundred and forty one citizens of Prince George's county, praying that some provision 'a be made by{ law appropriating* portion of the educational fund. to the education of colored children. Which was read the referred to the Committee on Edu- cation. Mr. Turner presented the petition of Eliza D. West widow of Charles, to be restored to the State pension rolls. Also, The petition of Eliza Lynch, widow of John Q., to be restored to the State pension rolls. Which were severally read and referred to the Committee on Pensions. Mr. Chaisty presented the petition of J. Farris Moore, and others, of the Maryland College of Pharmacy,-askiag for aid in behalf of their College. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Way. and Means. Mr. Ardinger presented the petition of G. W. Robinson,. Wm. Poffinberger, and one hundred and fifty-seven others, citizens of Washington county, praying the passage of a law giving any ward or district within the State to deter- mine, by ballot, whether intoxicating drinks should be sold; within such district. |
