Section 8, line 3, after the word "Clerk," insert the words,
"Or such other Clerk or employee as ha may select or desig-
nate."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Colton, of Baltimore City, submitted the following
amendment
Section 23, line 4, after the word "proceeds," insert,
"paid to the Inspector."
Which was rejected.
Mr. Colton, of St. Mary's, submitted the following amend-
ment:
Add at end of section 36 the following: "And the owner
of each hogshead of tobacco shall be entitled to receive (he
sum of two dollars for each and every hogshead or cask in
which the said tobacco may be enclosed when the said tobacco
is Bold.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Bond submitted the following amendment:
Section 29, strike out the word "six," where it occurs in
lines 3, 5 and 8, and insert the word "twelve."
Which was adopted.
Also,
In line 7, strike out the words " twelve and a half," and
insert the word "fifteen."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Bond submitted the following amendment:
Section 30, line 6, add after the word " wharves," the fol-
lowing : "That no charge of wharfinger shall be laid on
any tobacco received at or delivered from any of the State
wharves."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Bond submitted following amendment:
Section 34, strike out all after the words "take effect," in
line I, and insert, "from the date of its passage."
Which was adopted.
The bill, oft amended, was then read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.
On motion of Mr. Wells, (the rules being suspended,)
The House proceeded to the consideration of the hill, enti-
tled an Act to add an additional section to Article II. of the
