1872.] OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES. BY F. M. We have appointed as said committee Messrs. Wil- liams and Carroll. By order, AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY, Secretary. Which was read. Mr. Stone submitted the following message: BY the HOUSE OF DELEGATES, January 10, 1872. Gentlemen of the Senate : We have received your message requesting the presence of the members of the House of Delegates in the Senate Cham-ber, at the hour of 1 1/2 P. M., to witness the administering of the oath of office to the Governor elect, and respectfully accept the invitation. By order, MILTON Y. KIDD, Chief Clerk. Which was read, assented to, and sent to the Senate. Messrs. Williams and Carroll, a committee on the part of the Senate, appeared in the House and, through their chair- man, Mr. Williams, announced that the oath of office was about to be administered to the Governor elect, according to the requirements of the Constitution, and invited the attend- ance of the House of Delegates in the Senate Chamber. The members of the House, preceded by the Sergeant-at- Arms—the Speaker being accompanied by the Committee of the Senate—proceeded in a body to the Pen ate Chamber, And after the ceremonies of the inaugu. ration had been concluded returned to the House. Mr. Chaisty moved that when this House adjourn it stand adjourned until to-morrow, at 12 o'clock, noon. Decided in the affirmative. On motion of Mr. Travels, At 2 o'clock, P. M., the House adjourned. |
