On motion of Mr. Phillips,
Leave was granted to the Frederick delegation to introduce
a bill, entitled an Act for the better protection of birds in
Frederick county.
On motion of Mr. Hurtt,
'Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill, to add an additional section to the Code
of Public General Laws to close harbershops and hair dress-
ing saloons on the Sabbath day.
On motion of Mr. Johnson,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Johnson, Langrell and Par-
ker, to report a bill, to repeal the Act of 1868, entitled
"Wicmico County," sub-title "Elections," relating to the
division of election districts in Wicomico county, and to re-
enact the same with amendments.
Mr. Cotton, of Baltimore City, Chairman of the Commit-
tee on Claims, reported favorably
A bill, entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
pay the claims of Daniel M Thomas, Samuel Davis, George
W. Murdoch, James E. Tate, W. L. Phieffer, Samuel Stewart, James B. Steele, J. W. Kalmey, Charles A. Wailes,
James Hopkins, James S. Franklin, and John Trumbull, Jr.,
& Co.
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Foster, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported,
A bill, entitled an Act to repeal the Act of Incorporation
of Mechanicstown, Frederick county, Maryland, passed Feb-
ruary 13th, 1832, chapter 111, and the supplements therreto,
and sections 193, 184, 195, 196, 197, 198, 199, 200, 201,
2(12.203,204^205, 20^, 207, 208,209. 210, 211, 212, of
Article XI. of the Code of Public Local Laws, 'and also to
amend the Act of Assembly passed at the January Session,
18TO, chapter US, so as to make the same valid in law, and
asked to be discharged from the farther consideration of the
same, and that Raid bill be referred to the Frederick delega-tion. and that the Committee be discharged from the further
consideration thereof.
The Committee was discharged and the bill so referred.
Also) reported,
A bill, entitled an Act to add additional sections to Arti-
cle XI. of the Code of Public Local Laws, of Frederick
county, relating to the powers, and duties of the Mayor,
