368 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 13,
' Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Washing-
ton A. Smith is absent from his seat by an order of this
House, serving on Committee in the City of Baltimore.
Which was adopted. '
On motion of Mr. Clark, of Montgomery,
Leave was granted to the Montgomery delegation to intro-
duce a bill to authorize the Clerk of the Circuit Court for
Montgomery county, to place certain fees in the "hands of
the Sheriffs of the several counties of this State, and the city
of Baltimore, for collection.
On motion of Mr. Litzinger,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation to
report & bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 95, Article
III., of the Code of Public Local Laws, in relation to the
compensation of the crier of the Circuit Court for Balti-
more county, and to re-enact the same with amendments.
' On motion of Mr. Bond,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Bond, Spencer and Wells,
'to introduce a bill, authorizing the County Commissioners of
Cal vert County, to re-district or increase the number of elec-
tion precincts in said county.
On motion of Mr. Clark, of Montgomery,
Leave was granted to the Montgomery delegation to intro-
duce a bill entitled an Act amendatory of an Act passed at
December Session, 1849, chapter 368, entitled an Act incor-
porating the Union Plank or Turnpike Road Company in
Montgomery county.
On motion of Mr. Roach,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
report a bill to confirm the title of William S. Lankford, to
certain real estate lying in Somerset county.
On motion of Mr. Young, of Allegany,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Young, of Allegany, Henkle,
Hardcastle, Porter and Chaisty, to introduce a bill to repeal
sections 4, 6 and 6, of Article XXV., of the Code of Pub-
lic General Laws, entitled "Coroners," and to re-enact the
same with amendments.
On motion, of Mr. Roach,
Leave was granted to the Somerset delegation to report a
bill to add additional sections to Article XIX , of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Somerset county, sub-titled "Retail-
