Which were severally read and
On motion of Mr. Griswold,
Referred to a Select Committee of three, consisting of
Messrs. Griswold, dark, of Baltimore City and McCosker.
Mr. Litzenger presented the petition G. W. Elliott and
others, asking the passage of a law to prevent the sale of in-toxicating liquors in the village of Hereford.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Steele presented the petition of Israel Norris and nine-
ty-six other citizens and tax-payers Carroll county, asking
the passage of a law, creating the office of Treasurer for Car-
roll county; also, asking fur a change in mode of collecting
taxes in said county.
Which was read, and referred to the Carroll delegation.
Mr. Wilmer presented a petition, to place the name of
Solomon Scott, of Kent county, a soldier of the war of 1812,
on the pension rolls of this State.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.
Mr. Phillips presented a petition from Wm. H. Wagner
and two hundred and thirteen other citizens of Woodsboro '
District, Frederick county, Maryland, asking the passage of
a law to prohibit the sale or traffic of intoxicating liquors
within the limits of three miles, either way Horn said town of
Woodsboro'.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Also,
A petition from William Haugh and thirty others, asking
the passage of a Iaw to prohibit the killing of birds, except
birds' of prey, in the limits of Frederick county, Maryland I.
Which was read and referred to the Frederick delegation.
Mr. Eareckson presented the petition of T. B. Killiam,
Samuel Ringgold, Wm. Henry Legg, John W. Price and
one hundred and eighty-two other citizens of Queen Anne's
county, asking for the passage of a law to enable the quali-
fied voters of any election district to determine, by ballot,
whether drinking houses may or may not be licensed within
such district.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
