CHAPTER 430.
AN ACT to repeal section eighty-nine, article fifty-
six, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"Licenses," and to re-enact the same as amended.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section eighty-nine, article fifty-six,
of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
" Licenses," be repealed and re-enacted so as to read
as follows:
89. If any person shall barter or sell any goods,.
wares or merchandise, or spirituous and fermented
liquors, and lager beer, in quantities not less than a
pint, without taking out license therefor, as herein-
before provided, he shall on conviction pay a fine of
not less than twenty dollars nor more than one hun-
dred dollars for each offence; and upon failure to
pay said fine and the costs of prosecution, shall be
committed to jail and confined therein until such fine
and costs are paid, or for the period of twenty days,
whichever shall first occur.
SEC. 2. And be it mooted. That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
