CHAPTER 421.
AN ACT to repeal section sixteen, of article thirty-
eight, Code of Public General Laws, so far as the
same relates to Talbot county, and to add an
additional section to article twenty, Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws, entitled " Talbot county."
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section sixteen of the Code of Public
Genera] Laws, article thirty-eight, entitled " Fees of
Officers," sub-title " Criers,' be and the same is hereby
repealed in so far as it relates to Talbot county.
16. The " Crier " of the Circuit Court of Talbot
county shall be entitled to and receive a per diem of
five dollars for each and every day lie shall be em-
ployed as such, which shall be in full, and in lieu of
all other allowances now authorized by law; and the
commissioners of Talbot county are authorized and
directed at their next meeting for lying the county
levy, and annually thereafter, to levy for the use of
the " Crier " of said court, on the assessable property
of said county, such sum or sums of money, as they
shall deem sufficient to pay the per diem of the
" Crier " of said court, for the general term thereof;
and upon presentation to the said County Commis-
sioners of the certificate of the clerk of said court,
certifying the number of days in which he has been
engaged at each term of said court, the [the] " Crier "
thereof shall be entitled to receive his per diem in
cash, and the said County Commissioners are directed
upon presentation thereof to pay the same.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all Local Laws in-
consistent herewith are hereby repealed.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
