SEC. 6. And be. it further enacted, That the several
supervisors shall make general repairs of the roads
within their districts at least twice in each year;
once prior to the fifteenth of May, and once prior to
the fifteenth of September; and the County Commis-
sioners shall fix and regulate from time to time the
prices to be paid by supervisors for the hire of neces-
sary teams and laborers to execute any work under
this law; and it shall be lawful for the owner or
occupant of the land over which a public road passes,
or for one or both of the adjoining owners or occu-
pants when the road divides farms, and when said
road or any part needs immediate attention, to notify
the supervisor in writing of the condition of said
road, and "if the same is not mended in three days
from the delivery of said notice, the said owners or
occupants may have the same repaired, and it shall
be the duty of the County Commissioners to pay
him or them therefor, at the same rates for teams
and laborers that are or may be allowed supervisors,
but no allowance shall he made for Ins or their per-
sonal services in overlooking said work; provided,
that the items of said claims shall be verified by affi-
davit of the correctness thereof, and that the road
needed such repairs.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
