Hamilton presented the petition of Conrad Deitz, and one hundred and seventy-eight other citizens, asking the abolishment of coopering in the Penitentiary, Which was read and referred to the Committee on Manu- factures. Mr. 'Hardcastle presented the petition of John W. Temple, and ninety-seven others, of Caroline county, asking for the increase of the civil jurisdiction of Justices of the Peace in Caroline county to the sum of two hundred dollars. Which was read and referred to Messrs. Hardcastle, De- weese, and Wilmer. Mr. Turner presented the petition of Eli Kendall, to be restored to the State pension rolls. Also, The petition of Ellen Magle, widow of Anthony Magle, to be placed upon the State pension rolls. Which were severally read and referred to the Committee OB Pensions. Mr. Chaisty presented the petition of Mary Oram, widow of Cooper Oram, for a pension. Also, The petition of Ann Beverage, widow of Francis Beverage, for a pension. Also, The petition of Mary Smith, widow of Daniel Smith, for a pension and arrears of pension. Also, The petition of Elizabeth Rial, widow of Absalom Rial for & pension. Which were severally read and referred to the Committee on Pensions. Mr. Riley submitted the following order: Ordered, That leave of absence be granted Mr. Baldwin until Monday next.
