LAWS OF MARYLAND.
by section twelve of said Act of eighteen hundred
and seventy, chapter four hundred and fifty-nine,
and shall publish the same in two newspapers, one
of which shall be of opposite politics to the other,
printed in Frederick city, for three successive weeks;
.and the said lists shall be arranged according to pre-
cincts, and the name of every voter shall be placed
in the list of the precinct in which he resides.
SEC. 8. And be it enacted. That said officer of regis-
tration shall then make or cause to be made, in books
proper for the purpose, two fair copies of the list of
qualified voters of each precinct of said election dis-
trict, one of which copies said officer shall deliver to
the Sheriff" of Frederick county, and the other to the
Clerk of the Circuit Court of said comity; and said
officer shall also deliver to said clerk of said court
the new book of registration, according to the pro-
visions of section thirteen of said Act of Assembly
of eighteen hundred and seventy, chapter four hun-
dred and fifty-nine, applicable thereto, and thereafter
said new book of registration shall be the only legal
book of registration of voters of said Election Dis-
trict, number two.
SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That the said officer of
registration shall receive four dollars per day for
each day employed in the discharge of the duties
imposed by this Act, to be paid to said officer of
registration by the County Commissioners of Fred-
erick county; and the said County Commissioners
shall also pay to said officer of registration the
amount of money that may be expended by him in
procuring suitable books and stationery to carry out
the provisions of this Act, and said County Commis-
sioners shall also pay the expenses of publications
required by this Act.
SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That said officer of regis-
tration may employ a clerk to assist him in the per-
formance of the duties required by this Act, whose
compensation shall be two dollars and fifty cents pel-
day, to be paid by said County Commissioners of
Frederick county.
