CHAPTER 349.
AN ACT for the re-registration of voters in Elec-
tion District, number two, in Frederick county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That there shall be a re-registration of vo-
ters in Election District, number two, in Frederick
county.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Frederick county shall deliver to
the officer of registration for said Election District,
number two, the book of registration of voters of
said district, and also duly certified copies of the lists
of qualified voters of said district, now in the office
of said clerk, on the first day of June, in the year
eighteen hundred and seventy-two; and the said
officer of registration shall, on said day, demand
from said clerk said book of registration, and said-
certified copies of said lists of voters, and shall
safely keep and protect the same from alteration,
mutilation and defacement, until he shall have per-
formed all the duties required of him by this Act.
SEC. 3. Awl be it enacted, That immediately after
said officer of registration shall have demanded and
received from said clerk said book and lists, or as
soon thereafter as possible, said officer of registra-
tion shall proceed to place upon a new book of reg-
istration, to be procured by said officer of registration
for such purpose, the names of all voters upon the
present book of registration who are known by said'
officer of registration as qualified voters of said elec-
tion district; provided the respective precincts in
which said voters may reside are also known to said-
officer of registration.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That after said. officer
of registration shall have performed the duties re-
quired, of him by the third section of this Act, for-
the purpose of discharging the further duties imposed!
by this Act, he shall, for four successive weeks, com-
mencing on the third Monday in July, in the year-
eighteen hundred and seventy-two, at some place
