demeanor, and shall he liable to presentment and
indictment therefor in the Circuit Court for Freder-
ick county, and upon conviction thereof shall be con-
fined in the Penitentiary [house] of the State of Mary-
land for a period not exceeding seven years.
SUB-SEC. 9. The judges of election, under the pro-
visions of this law, shall receive the ballot of every
qualified voter presented to them, whose name and
designation shall appear upon the list of registered
voters, and who shall present his ballot to them dur-
ing the hours appointed for holding any election, and
refuse the ballots of every person whose name and
designation shall not appear upon the list of said
qualified voters of his ward; and any judge of elec-
tion wilfully and corruptly violating any of the pro-
visions of this section, shall be guilty of a misde-
meanor, and liable to presentment and indictment
therefor in the Circuit Court of Frederick county,
and on conviction thereof shall be punished by con-
finement in the Penitentiary [house] of the State of
Maryland for a period not exceeding seven years.
SUB-SEC. 10. This Act shall not interfere with the
term of office of the present Mayor, Board of Alder-
man, or Board of Common Councilmen of Frederick
city.
Bra-Sue. 11. Said judges of election shall have and
exercise the powers and authority of Justices of the
Peace in and about the polls in their respective
wards, during all elections held under tins Act, for
the purpose of maintaing order and preserving peace.
SUB-SEC, 12. The said judges of election shall,
within two days after any election, make a correct
return of the result thereof to the Register of Fred-
erick city, who shall immediately thereafter publish
the same.
SUB-SEC. 13. All laws or parts of laws inconsistent
"with this Act, and not herein expressly repealed, are
hereby expressly repealed so far as necessary to give
full effect to this Act, and no further.
