LAWS OF MARYLAND.
five o'clock in the afternoon of said day, for the pur-
pose of registering all the qualified voters of his said
ward, who shall be entitled under the provisions of
this article to be registered, and to vote at any muni-
cipal election held thereunder, and who shall apply
for registration; and the said officer of registration
shall cause said list to be published in one newspaper
published in Frederick city, and also by hand-bills
posted in such public places in his ward as he may
select.
SUB-SEC. 5. For the purpose of correcting said
books of registration, and said lists as published by
said officers of registration respectively, they shall
sit at some convenient place in their respective wards,
from nine o'clock in the morning until five o'clock
in the afternoon on the second Monday of February,
and annually thereafter, having given at least five
days prior notice, by advertisement inserted in some
newspaper published in Frederick city, and by hand-
bills set up at public places in their respective wards,
of the time and place of sitting to correct said lists;
and at the time and place published by said officers
of registration for correcting said books of registra-
tion and lists as published by said officers respectively,
they shall proceed to strike from said lists persons
known or made known to them to have died, or who
do not possess the requisite qualifications, or who will
not possess said qualifications before the election
next ensuing, or who are disqualified under the
second and third sections of article first of the Con-
stitution, and to register the name of every person
. who shall apply to them to be registered who shall
satisfy said officer of registration that lie possesses, or
will possess the requisite qualifications before the elec-
tion next ensuing, and that he is not disqualified
under the second and third sections, of the first
article of the Constitution; and also the name of every
person whom a Judge of the Circuit Court for Fred-
erick county, to which an appeal (which is hereby
authorized in the same manner and for the same
causes stated, in section fourteen, of chapter four hun-
dred and fifty-nine, of the laws of eighteen hundred
and seventy,) shall be taken from the decision of any
officer of registration, shall decide to be entitled to
