CHAPTER 305.
AX ACT regulating fences in Emmittsburg District,
Frederick county.
SECTION 1. Be if enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That all landholders, or their tenants in
Emmittsburg District, Frederick county, shall make and keep in repair a good and substantial fence, at.
least four and a half feet high, around their outside
premises, and any person or persons in said district,,
tailing to keep such fence, shall not recover any
sum. of money for damage done by trespass by neat
cattle, horses, swine or sheep, nor impound stocky
except when such fence may be injured or destroyed By freshet, in which case the owner of such fence-
shall be allowed sixty days in which to repair or re-
place the same.
SEC. 2. And ho it enacted, That any Act in conflict
with this Act, he and the same is hereby repealed,
and further', that tins Act shall take effect from. the
date of its passage.

CHAPTER 306.
AN ACT to pay Frederick Raine a sum of money
due him for publishing the laws of the session of
eighteen hundred and sixty-eight.
WHEREAS, In accordance with the law passed dur-
ing the session of the Legislature of eighteen hun-
dred and sixty-eight, the laws were published in the
German language by Frederick Raine, of the Ger-
man Correspondent, published in the city of Baltimore,
and whereas, that the said Frederick Raine has up
to the present time received no compensation for his
services.
