county in which the crime was committed, for every
such offence, for the space of ten days; provided,
however, that such convictions shall be made within
sixty days after committing the offence.
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the Constable and Bailiff of the several election
districts of the counties aforesaid, or wards of the
several cities, to arrest all persons whom they may
see violating any of the sections of this Act, and
take them before the nearest Justice of the Peace, to
be dealt with as this Act directs.
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 304.
AN ACT to provide for the protection of wild tur-
keys in Charles county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall not be lawful for any person
or persons to shoot, trap or in any way kill or destroy,
or to break up or rob the nest of any wild turkey in
Charles county for the space of two years, from the
first day of June, eighteen hundred and seventy-two.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That any person or per-
sons violating the preceding section, shall upon con-
viction thereof before a Justice of the Peace, pay a
fine of ten dollars and costs for each and every
offence, one-half of which fine shall be paid to the'
County Commissioners of said county, and the other
half to the informer.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the operation of all,
Acts of Assembly in conflict with the provisions of '
the preceding section, be and the same are hereby
suspended until the expiration of this Act.
