CHAPTER -289.
AN ACT to add an additional sections to article fifty-
four of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled.
Land Office.
SECTION 1. Be It enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the following section be added to
article fifty-four of the Code of Public General Laws,
entitled Land Office.
SEC. 40. The Commissioner of the Land Office
shall have power to appoint a clerk, who shall receive
a salary of ten hundred dollars per annum.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act
shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 290.
AN ACT authorizing and requiring the Commis-
sioners of Baltimore county to build abridge over.'
Gwynn's Falls, at Thompson street, in said" county,.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Bal-
timore county, be and they are hereby authorized'
and required to levy a sum of money on the assessa-
ble property of said county, to build a bridge over-
Gwynn's Falls, at or near its intersection with Thompson street, as the same is or may be extended"
by the Street Commissioners of Baltimore county;
the whole to be let out to the lowest responsible.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That tins Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
