Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to add to Article LI. of the Code of Public
General Laws, entitled " Justices of the Peace," sections un-
der the head of " Criminal Jurisdiction," extending and
regulating the criminal jurisdiction of Justices of the Peace.
Mr. Stone,. Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
.Means, to whom was referred, .
The bill, entitled an Act for the relief of the sureties on
the bonds of Stephen R. Gore, late Collector of county taxes
in Oarroll. county,
Reported back the same, and asked to be discharged from
the further consideration thereof.
The Committee was discharged.
The Speaker laid before the House the report of the Commissioner of Immigration. .

Which was read, ordered to be printed, and referred to the
Committee on Agriculture.
Mr. Groome, Chairman of the Committee on Federal Re-
lations, to whom was referred the Joint Resolution from the
. Senate, requesting the Senators and Members of the House of
Representatives from Maryland, in the Congress of the Uni-
ted States, to use their influence to have a survey made of
the harbor, at the mouth of the Patuxent River,
Reported bad; the same favorably.
Said resolution being upon a second reading,
The said resolution was then read a second time and passed
