CHAPTER 254.
AN" ACT to authorize and empower the County
Commissioners of Anne Arundel county to appro-
priate a sum of money to the capital stock of the
Annapolis and North Severn Bridge Company.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Anne
Arundel county be and they are hereby authorized
and empowered to appropriate such a sum of money
as in their discretion they may deem most conducive
to the interests of said county, to the purchase of
shares in the capital stock of the Annapolis and
North Severn Bridge Company; said money to be
raised in such manner as in their judgment may be-
to the best interest of the tax payers of the county.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 255.
AN ACT to repeal section forty-six, of article eighty-
one, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
" Revenue and Taxes," and to re-enact the same
with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section forty-six, of article eighty-
one, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
" Revenue and Taxes," be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
SEC. 46. All persons and incorporate institutions
that shall pay their State taxes on or before the first
day of September, of the year for which they were
levied, shall be entitled to a deduction of five per
