Mr. Stone presented the petition of sundry citizens of
diaries county, praying for the appointment of a Weigher
of Grain.
Which was read and referred to the Select Committee
already appointed on that subject.
Mr, Rowe presented (he petition of one hundred and forty
citizens of Maryland praying for the passage of a general
law, to enable the voters of any ward or election district to
determine, by ballot, whether drinking houses may or may
not be licensed within such ward or district.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Baldwin presented the petition of John Watkins and
twenty others, asking a 'nodineation in the Wild Fowl Law.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.
Mr. Spencer presented the petition of the Managers of
the Home of the Friendless, asking that the present State
appropriation may be continued to that Institution.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr, Routzahn presented the petition of Upton W. Burh-man and fifty other citizens of Washington county, asking
a general law, to be determined by ballot, whether intoxica-
ting liquors shall be sold in any county or district in the
State.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Vickers presented the petition of Wm. H. Travers
and other citizens of Williamsburg district, in Dorchester
county, praying a change of the present line dividing New
Market and Williamsburg districts, in said county.
Which was read and referred to the Dorchester delega-
tion.
Mr. L. A. J. Lamotte presented the petition of Lewis H.
Knox and thirty seven other citizens of Carroll county, ask-
ing tor the release of sureties "of the bonds of S. R. Gore,
late Collector of County Taxes in Carrolll county.
Which was read and referred to the Carrol delegation.
Mr, dark, of Baltimore City, presented the petition of
George Appold & Sons, and nine others, against a $300 tax
on non-resident traders.
