LAWS OF MARYLAND.
CHAPTER 235.
AN ACT to amend an Act entitled " An Act to in-
corporate the Potomac Fire Insurance Company
of Baltimore," passed at January session, eighteen
hundred and sixty-seven, chapter four hundred
and twenty-four.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That so much of section three of the
original Act, to which this is a supplement, as re-
lates to the time of holding the annual meeting of
the stockholders of said corporation for the election
of Directors, the manner of electing the same, and
the election of the President and Vice President of
said corporation, be and the same is hereby repealed,
and that said section be amended so as to read: And
the stockholders or their legal representatives shall,
on the second Monday in January in each and every
year, choose by ballot from among the stockholders
the number of Directors designated by the by-laws
to serve one year, and until their successors are
elected; each stockholder to be entitled to one vote
for each share of stock held by them, respectively,
for thirty days previous to an election for Directors
at their first meeting; after an annual election the
Directors shall choose a President and Vice Presi-
dent to serve, respectively, for one year from the
date of said election, and until their successors are
elected; and in case of a vacancy thereafter occur-
ring the Directors shall fill such vacancy for the re-
mainder of the year; should it so happen that an an-
nual election may not take place on the day herein
named, such election may be lawfully held within
thirty days thereafter, ten days' notice being first
given in at least one daily newspaper published in
the City of Baltimore.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the first annual elec-
tion for Directors of said corporation, to be held in
pursuance of section one of this amended Act, shall
take place at the office of said company, in the City
of Baltimore, on the second Monday in January, in
the year eighteen hundred and seventy-three, and.
