on every second Monday in January in each and
every year thereafter, or within thirty days there-
after, as prescribed by said section one of this
amended Act; and that the President, Vice Presi-
dent and Directors elected at the last annual elec-
tion, as prescribed in section three of the original
Act, shall hold their offices until the second Monday
in January, in the year eighteen hundred and
seventy-three, and until their successors are elected.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That on and after the
passage of this amended Act it shall be lawful for
the Potomac Fire Insurance Company of Baltimore
to make perpetual, and all other kind of insurance,
against loss or damage by fire in the State of Mary-
land or elsewhere.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted. That the President and
Directors of said company, in addition to the rights,
powers and privileges conferred upon them by sec-
tion four of the original Act, to which this is a sup-
plement, be and they are hereby authorized and em-
powered to invest the capital, assets and other
monies of the said company in real or leasehold es-
tate lying in the City of Baltimore, or within the
State of Maryland, and for that purpose shall have
the right, and they are hereby authorized and- em-
powered the same to purchase and hold, and to sell,
dispose of and convey the same, in as full and ample
manner as a private individual might do.
SEC. 5. And be it enacted. That any Act, or part
of any Act conflicting with this Act, be and the same
in hereby repealed.
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the General Assem-
bly reserves to itself the right to alter or amend this
charter at its pleasure.
