CHAPTER 224.
AN ACT to authorize and require the Clerk of the
Circuit** for Baltimore county to record such
chancery and inquisition cases, decided in said
court, as involve titles to land which have not been
heretofore recorded.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Clerk of the Circuit Court of
Baltimore county be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to record the proceedings in all such
eases in the Circuit Court for Baltimore county, as a
Court of Chancery, in which the title to land is in-
volved, and such inquisitions for condemnation of
land as may have been ratified and confirmed by
said court as are now required by law to be re-
corded, or which the Judges of said court may desig-
nate as proper to be recorded, but which the clerks,
whose duty it was, may have omitted to record
during their several terms of office.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That the County Com-
missioners of said county are hereby authorized and
directed to levy on the assessable property of said
county a sum sufficient to pay for the recording of
said cases, and pay for the same, according to the
rates fixed by law, as said recording may he certi-
fied to have been properly performed by the Judges
of the said court; provided, however, that in all cases
where there are persons who or whose securities are
bound to record or pay for recording such proceed-
ings, the said County Commissioners may claim and
recover the money paid by them for such recording.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
