hand and seal, permit and suffer the said company
to erect and place (in addition to the toll-gate al-
lowed to be placed upon said road on the completion
of the first mile) such and so many other gates upon
and across said road as will be necessary and suf-
ficient, in the judgment of the President and Direc-
tors, to collect the tolls and duties granted to said
company by this Act, from all persons using the
same.
SEC. 13. And he it enacted, That nothing herein
contained shall authorize the said company to issue
note, token or device to be used as currency.
SEC. 14. And he. it enacted, That the said Turnpike
road shall be completed within ten years from the
passage of this Act, and that this Act shall go into
effect from the date of its passage, and that the Gen-
era] Assembly reserves the right to change, amend,
or repeal this Act at pleasure.

CHAPTER 186.
AN ACT to authorize the Washington City and
Point Lookout Railroad Company to extend their
railroad into the District of Columbia, and to run
a line or lines of steamers.
SECTION 1. Be if enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Washington City and Point
Lookout Railroad Company, a corporation duly or-
ganized, on the twenty-fourth day of February,
eighteen hundred and seventy-two, under the pro-
visions of an Act, entitled an Act to provide for the
creation and regulation of " incorporated companies
in the State of Maryland," approved April the fourth,
eighteen hundred and seventy, in order to enable
said company to extend a railroad into the District
of Columbia, is hereby authorized to accept any
