' Mr. Groome presented the petition of Joseph Hall, for pen-
sion arrears, his name being on the roll under the name of
William Hall, instead of his true name, Joseph Hall.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-sion.
Mr. Coles presented the petition of Geo. E. Michael and.
thirty-seven other citizens of Allegany county, asking for a
law authorizing him to erect and keep a gate on a public
road through his farm, in said county.

Mr. Feig presented the petition of E. M. Roads and fifty-
three other citizens, asking the abolishment of coopering in
the State Prison.
Which -was read and referred to the Committee on Manu-
factures.
Mr. Street presented the petition of Albert Hoopes, asking
for a modification of the License Law.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Porter presented the petition of O. M. Graham and
Sarah Wright, authorizing the County Commissioners of ^
Allegany county to refund the taxes that have been twice
paid, etc.
Which, was read and referred to the Allegany delegation.
Mr. Street to presented the petition of James Tate, Thomas
Carman, Eveline Ayers and Catharine Carman, asking for
pensions.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Groome presented the petition of Mary Ewing, widow
of John Ewing, a soldier of the war of 1812, asking to be
placed on the lists of pensioners.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. McColgan presented the petition of Josiah Harrison,
a soldier of the war of 1812, asking to be restored to the
State pension rolls.
