The petition of H, T. Rudy, John L Linthicum and forty
other citizens of Frederick county, asking chat the Baltimore
and Ohio Railroad Company be taxed.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
ad Means.
Mr. Poll? presented the petition of Samuel G. Slack and
thirty-seven other citizens of Carroll county, asking for (lie
passage of an Act to relieve the sun ties on the bonds of Ste-
phen K. Gore, late Collector of County Taxes in Carroll
County.

Mr. Young, of Washington, presented the petition of John
B. Poffenbarger and one hundred and sixty-nine other citizens of Washington county, praying the passage of a bill
prohibiting the sale of intoxicating drink in Maryland...

and Means.
Mr. Staylor presented the petition of George Wagner and

the passage of a bill to re-enact section 41,42 ami 43, of
Article LVI. of Public General Laws, with amendments.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
. Mr. McCosker presented the petition of J. Ruth and nine-
ty-eight other citizens, asking the abolishing of coopering in
the Penitentiary.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Man-
ufactures.
Mr. Eareckson presented the petition of Samuel L. Jones,
Alexander Thompson, James J. Taylor, John W. Hassett,
and one hundred and twelve other citizens of Queen Anne's
