dred and sixty-seven, of the General Assembly of
Maryland, chapter two hundred and sixty-eight, and
by the Act passed at [at] the session of eighteen
hundred and seventy, entitled "an Act to amend the
Act of January session, eighteen hundred and sixty-
seven, chapter two hundred and sixty eight, entitled
' an Act to incorporate the Baltimore Warehouse
Company,' " and the stockholders of said company,
shall be individually liable to the creditors, laborers
and servants of the said company, to the same extent,
and no farther than provided by said Acts in relation
to the said Baltimore Warehouse Company, and its
receipts, warrants and. certificates, be transferrable
in the same manner.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if any officer,
clerk or servant, or other person in the employment
of the said corporation, shall take, embezzle or con-
vert to his own use, or make away or secrete, with
intent to take, embezzle or convert to Ids own use,
any property, goods, wares or merchandize, delivered
to said corporation, or in, or under their possession,
custody or control, or shall, with intent to defraud
said corporation, or other person or persons, issue or
cause, or suffer, or in any way or manner procure to
be issued any receipt, warrant or warehouse certifi-
cate, for any property, goods, wares or merchandize,
not actually delivered, to, or in, or under the posses-
sion, custody or control of said corporation, or shall,
with like intent, issue or cause, or suffer, or in any
manner, procure to be issued any receipt, warrant,
or warehouse certificate as aforesaid, for any prop-
erty, goods, wares or merchandize, in the custody,
possession or control of said corporation, except on
the cancellation and surrender of the original re-
ceipt, warrant or warehouse certificate issued there-
for, he shall, upon conviction, be punished in the
manner provided by law for feloniously stealing
property of the value of the article so taken, em-
bezzled, converted, made way with, or secreted, as
mentioned or described in said receipts, warrants or
certificate.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
