made by the County Commissioners, then it shall be
the duty of the County Commissioners to institute
suit on the bond of such collector, and to assign gen-
erally the breach that said collector has failed or
refused, as the case may be, to pay over- to the Coun-
ty Commissioners the balance in Ills hands as such
collector, under this section.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That tins Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 87.
AN ACT for the protection of the Chancery records
of Baltimore city.
SECTION 1. Be if enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Clerk of the Circuit Court of
Baltimore city he and he is hereby authorized and
empowered to appoint a night watch man, whose duty
shall be to strictly and vigilantly guard throughout
the year, between the hours of six P. M. and seven
A. M., the records and papers deposited in the office
of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Baltimore city,
and who shall be removed, in the discretion of the
said Clerk of the Circuit Court, for neglect or care-
lessness in the discharge of his duties, or for other
good and sufficient cause.
SEC'. 2. And be it enacted, That the Register of the
City of Baltimore shall pay to the said watchman the
-sum of nine hundred dollars per annum, as and for
his salary, in the same manner as is now by law
provided for the payment of the salaries of the bailiff's
of the courts.
SEC. 3. A lid be it enacted, That all Acts or parts of
Acts inconsistent herewith be and the same are
hereby repealed.
SEC 4. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
