CHAPTER 84.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay the
claims of Daniel M. Thomas, Samuel Davis,,
George W. Murdoch, .James E. Tate, W. L.
Pfeiffer, Samuel Stewart, James B. Steele, J. W.
Kalmey, Charles A. Wailes, James Hopkins,
James S. Franklin, and John Turnbull, Jr., and
company.
SECTION 1. .Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be
and. he is hereby requested and directed, to issue his
warrant upon the Treasurer to pay to Daniel M.
Thomas, for services rendered the counsel of the State
of Maryland, versus the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.
Company, in auditing the said account, five hundred
dollars; to Samuel Davis, for taking care of, refitting
and cleaning the Senate chamber for the present
session of the Legislature, three hundred dollars; to
George W. Murdoch, for taking care of, refitting and
cleaning the hall of the House of Delegates for the
present session of the Legislature, three hundred
dollars; to James E. Tate, for sundries furnished for
the use of the House of Delegates, sixteen dollars
and seventy-five cents; to W. L. Pfeiffer, for cane-
seat chairs furnished the House of Delegates, forty-
six dollars; to Samuel Stewart, for materials fur-
nished and work done in repairing the heating
apparatus of the State House, by order of the Gover-
nor, four hundred and fifty-one dollars; to James B.
Steele, for legal services rendered the State in Caro-
line county, one hundred and four dollars and ninety-
eight cents; to J. W. Kalmey, for painting the
Senate Chamber Committee room, varnishing desks
and renovating picture frames, throe hundred, and.
twenty-three dollars and fifty cents; to Charles A.
Wailes, for services rendered by order of the Board
of Public Works, three hundred dollars; to James
Hopkins, for painting the House Committee rooms,
varnishing desks, and so forth, three hundred and
sixty-four dollars and sixty-six cents; to James 8.
Franklin, Clerk of the Court of Appeals, for fees
