CHAPTER 74.
AN ACT further to amend the charter of the As-
sociated Firemen's Insurance Company of the City
of Baltimore.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by} / the General assembly of
Maryland, That so much of the fifth section of the
Act of December session, in the year eighteen hun-
dred and sixty-one, chapter seven, specifying fifteen
Directors as the proper number for the management
of said company, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed.
SEC. 2. And be. it enacted, That hereafter, on the
second Monday of January in each and every year,
between the hours of twelve o'clock M. and one
o'clock P. M., at the office of the company, the stock-
holders shall choose, in the manner prescribed in said
fifth section, twenty Directors for the management of
said company, with power to them to fill all vacan-
cies occurring in their number until the next annual
election.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect when accepted by the stockholders holding a
majority of interest therein, represented in person or
by proxy, at a meeting to be convened for such pur-
pose, by notice duly published for two weeks in two
of the daily newspapers of said city, stating the
object of the meeting, and if accepted,, immediately
to take effect thereafter.
