enlarging, improving and repairing said Court House,
hi whole or in part, or for furnishing material for
the same or any part thereof, and shall take good
and sufficient bonds, with approved security condi-
tional for the faithful performance of the contracts
so made, and such bond. or bonds shall be liable for
any damages that the county may sustain by the
non-performance of any of the conditions of said
contracts.
SEC. 7. And be It enacted, That no part of said
bonded debt or interest thereon, provided for by this
Act, shall be chargeable to or collected from the
inhabitants of that portion of Allegany county
embraced within the lines of a new county, after the
same shall have been laid off and organized in
accordance with the Constitution and Laws of the
State; but until such new county shall be laid off
and organized, the said bonded debt and interest
shall be chargeable to, and collected from, the inhabi-
tants of the whole county, as now organized, and
known as Allegany county.
SEC. 8. And he if enacted, That said County Com-
missioners are hereby authorized and empowered to
contract for such furniture for said Jail as may be
necessary, and for said Court House and Clerk's
office and Register's office, such furniture, cases,
shelves and other material, as may be necessary for
the comfort and convenience of the occupants, or for
the transaction of the business of said officers, and
pay for the same in the manner provided in the pre-
ceding sections.
SEC. 9. And he 'it enacted, That the said County
Commissioners shall be and they are hereby autho-
rized, directed and required to use, remove or dis-
pose of such parts of the old Jail, and the buildings
and walls connected therewith or surrounding the
same, and to alter and repair such parts of said
buildings as they shall not so remove in such manner
that the same may be adapted to the use of the
County offices, and to surround the said premises with
a pavement and proper open railing, or such other
fence as they may think proper, and the proceeds
