before any Justice of the Peace of this State, he
fined not less than twenty dollars, nor more than
one hundred and fifty dollars, one-half of which
amount shall be paid to the informer, and the other
half to the State, provided, however, that any one con-
victed of violating the provisions of this Act, shall
be entitled to appeal to the Circuit Court of the
county in which he was convicted, or to the City
Court of Baltimore city, if the offence was committed
in the City of Baltimore, provided, that nothing here-'
in contained shall be construed to apply to the im-
provement of harbors, or to affect any existing Act
of Assembly relating to tire construction of wharves,
or to rights of riparian proprietors.
171. The commanding officer of the Oyster Police:
Force is hereby required and directed to enforce the
provisions of this Act.
SEC. 2. And be It enacted, That this Act shall take:
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 59.
AN ACT to repeal section one hundred and ninety-
three of article three, Public Local Laws, title
" Baltimore county," sub-title " Sheriff," and re-
enact the same to read as follows:
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of'.
Maryland, That section one hundred and ninety-
three of article three, Public Local Laws, title " Bal-
timore county," sub-title " Sheriff," be and the same
is hereby repealed, and re-enacted with amendments
to read as follows:
193. The Sheriff of said county shall be allowed:
three dollars a day for each day lie shall attend the
Circuit Court for said county, in person or by dep-
