Leave was granted to Messrs. Staylor, McCosker, Jamart,
Travers, Feig and McColgan to introduce a bill, entitled an
Act to repeal section 13 of Article LI. of the Public Gen-
eral Laws, entitled " Jurisdiction of Justices of the Peace
of the City of Baltimore," sub-title " Justices of the Peace,"
and to re-enact the same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Goldsborough, Linthicum,
Franklin, Travers and Polk to introduce a bill to create a
Weigher of Grain for the City of Baltimore.
On motion of Mr. Sasscer,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to intro-
duce a bill to pay William D. Bowie, Sr., Clement Hill,
John W. Borroughs, Washington G. Beall, William B.
Bowie, O. C. Magruder and others money erroneously paid
by them to the Tobacco Warehouses for outage and storage on
tobacco.
On motion of Mr. Streett,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill to repeal section 186, chapter 294, of the
Acts of 1870, entitled an Act to exempt mortgages from
assessment and valuation.
On motion of Mr. Wilmer,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Wilmer, Hurtt and Pen-
ington to report a bill entitled an Act to repeal section 7
of the Act passed March 8, 1856, chapter 148, entitled " An
Act to incorporate the Kent County Railroad Company,"
and to re-enact the same as follows.
On motion of Mr. Travers,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill, requiring the savings' institutions through-
out the State of Maryland to advertise at least once a year
in two of the daily papers in the City of Baltimore, and in
one paper in each county, where a similar institution or in-
stitutions are located, the amount of unclaimed dividends
and unclaimed deposits on hand with the name of the
parties to whom due.
On motion of Mr, C. R. Hamilton,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Ohesapeake
Bay and its Tributaries to introduce a bill to protect the
preservation offish in the waters of the Chesapeake Bay and
tributaries.
