Maryland Penitentiary.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Manu-
factures.
Mr. Staylor presented the petition of Edward Israel and
others, in favor of the passage of the law offered to repeal
section 60, of Article V. of the Code as enacted by chapter
56, of the Laws of 1870.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.
Mr. Miller presented the petition of Daniel Crawford and
forty-nine other citizens of Frederick county, asking that
taxation be made equal in this State.
Which waa read and referred to the Committee on Ways-
and Means.
Mr. Goldsborough presented the petition of the Managers
of the House for Friendless Children, in Easton, Talbot
county.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Miller presented the petition of J. H. Marshall and
forty-nine other mechanics, asking the passage of a law to
prohibit the manufacture of oak coopering by convicts in the
Maryland Penitentiary.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Manu-
factures.
Mr. Stewart presented the petition of Martin Kratt and
one hundred and forty citizens of Baltimore City, asking the
abolishing of coopering in the Penitentiary.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Manu-
factures.
Mr. Bowie presented the memorial of J. T. C. Clarke,
President of the Board of County Commissioners, J. T. and
E. Hardesty, Dr. J. McE. Mulliken, B. H. Beckettand other
prominent citizens of Collington, Prince George's county,
praying the passage of an Act to tax the capital stock and
property of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. T. H. Hamilton presented the petition of Agnes Ingle-
-fritz, widow of Daniel Inglefritz, asking to he restored to the
State pension rolls.
