OF THE SENATE. 895 STATE OF MARYLAND, EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT, ' Annapolis, March 1, 1872. Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland: I respectfully nominate J. Gideon Ireland as County Com- missioner, for Calvert county, in the place of James H. Fra- zier, resigned. WM. PINKNEY WHYTE. On motion by Mr. Compton, The aforegoing nominations were ordered to lie over. On motion by Mr. Compton, The Senate took up for consideration the nomination of Thomas C. Wilkinson, as Justice of the Peace for the Sixth District of Charles county, and, on his motion, the Senate advised and consented to said nomination. On motion by Mr. Earle, The Senate took up for consideration the nominations of W. D. Tarbutton and W. T. Meredith, as Justices of the Peace for the First District of Queen Anne's county, and, on his motion, the Senate advised and consented to said nomi- nations. On motion by Mr. Earle, The Senate refused to advise and consent to the nomina- tion of George W. Handy, as Justice of the Peace for the Fifth District of Queen Anne's county. On motion by Mr. Fields, The Senate advised and consented to the appointment of Commissioners of Deeds for this State, agreeably to the nomi- nations of the 21st February, ultimo. On motion by Mr. Earle, The Senate advised and consented to the appointment of Charles A. A. Stanley, Justice of the Peace for the Fourth Election District of Kent county, agreeably to the nomina- tion of the 27th February, ultimo. STATE OF MARYLAND.
