The bill, entitled an Act to appoint a Commissioner of
Immigration, to protect the interest of labor and agriculture
in the State of Maryland; also, receive and provide for all
immigrants arriving at the Port of Baltimore, in the State
of Maryland,
Being upon a second reading,
On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,
The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
till recommitted to the Committee on Immigration.
The bill, entitled an Act to repeal sections 82, 83, 84, 85,
'87 and 89, as amended by the Act of 1862, chapter 56 and
section 94, of the Code of Public Local Laws, of Frederick
county, relating to the Mayor, Aldermen, and Common
Council of Frederick City, and re-enact substitutes therefor,
Being upon a second reading,
On motion of fir. Stewart,
The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
till made the order of the day for Tuesday next, the sixth
day of February.
The bill, entitled an Act for the better protection of land
owners bordering upon the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributa-
ries,
Being upon a second reading.
On motion of Mr. Groome,
The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
bill referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.
The bill, entitled an Act to revive and extend the Act
passed at December Session, 1828, chapter 7, entitled an Act
to incorporate the Baltimore Screw Dock Company,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The bill, entitled an Act to release William W. Watkins,
Josiah Groves, Benjamin H. Dorsey, J. Wolfersberger, 8.
F. Cobb, William B. Collier, Samuel Burgess, William H.
Scott, H. E. Wootton, George Burgess, Beal Helm and Rob-
ert Wilson, securities on the bond of Thos. McCrae, Jr., Col-
lector of State and County Taxes of the First Collection Dis-
trict of Howard county for the year 1869, from the payment
of interest on State tax levied on said district for said year
1869,
Being upon a second reading,
