I also nominate Henry Williams to be Notary Public for
Frederick county, to reside in Frederick city, vice Jno. W.
Brosius, resigned.
I also nominate Edward B. Freeland, of Baltimore county,
to be Justice of the Peace for said county, vice George Lit-
zinger, resigned.
I also nominate Samuel W. Brooks, of Anne Arundel
county, to be Messenger to the Governor.

On motion by Mr. Wilson,
The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing nomi-
nation of Somerville Pinkney Tuck, of New York city, as
Commissioner of Deeds for the State of New York.
On motion by Mr. Steiner,
The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing nomi-
nation of Henry Williams as Notary Public for Frederick
county.
On motion by Mr. Davis,
The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing nomi-
nation of Edward B. Freeland as Justice of the Peace for
Baltimore county.
On motion by Mr. Tuck,
The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing nomi-
nation of Samuel W. Brooks as Messenger to the Governor.

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,
Annapolis, January 18, 1872.
Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland :
1 nominate James F. Gordon, of Howard county to be
Chief Justice of the Orphans' Court of said county, to fill the
vacancy occasioned by his own failure to quality, by virtue of
his election by the people at the last general State election.

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing nomi-
nation of James F. Gordon, as Chief Judge of the Orphans'
Court for Howard county.
