858 EXECUTIVE PROCEEDINGS On motion by Denson, The Senate resumed the consideration of Legislative busi- ness. THURSDAY, January 25, 1872. The following communication which had been received from His Excellency, Governor Whyte, was read STATE OF MARYLAND, EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT, Annapolis, January 25, 1872. Gentlemen, of the Senate of Maryland: I nominate Samuel B. Merrick, of Talbot county, to bo Justice of the Peace for the Third Election District of said county, vice Robert R. Butler resigned. WM. PINKNEY WHYTE. On motion by Mr. Jump, The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing nomi- nation. On motion by Mr. Fields, The Senate resumed the consideration of Legislative busi- ness.
