Gentlemen of the, Senate of Maryland:
I herewith transmit to you a list of the Executive appoint-
.ments made for Howard county, during the recess of the Leg-
islature :
April 18,1870.—George W. Boswell, Justice of the Peace 1st
district, vice W. Roles, declined.
May 5, 1870.—John H. Hall, -Justice of the Peace 6th dis-
trict, vice self, failed to qualify.
July 22, 1870.—Alphonso E. Latchford, Officer of Begistra-
tration 6th district, vice Geo. E. Latch-
ford, declined.
Aug. 26, 1870.—James Rowles, Officer of Registration 1st
district, vice G. ^W. Rowles, failed to
qualify.
Aug. 16, 1870.—Samuel Brown, Officer of Registration 3rd
district, vice W. Gunther, ineligible.
June 22, 1870.—S. A. Creamine, Justice of the Peace 1st dis-
trict, vice W. Rowles, declined.
Jan. 5, 1871.—Edward Earp, Justice of the Peace 1st dis-
trict, vice A. A. Greamine, resigned.
Feb. 3, 1871.—John Webb, Justice of the Peace 6th dis-
trict, vice Geo. T. Chaney, resigned.
Mar. 16, 1871.—Lo^s J. Watkins, Justice of the Peace 2d
district, vice Joseph Hunt, failed to
qualify.
April 12,1871.—Anthony M. Johnson, County Commission-
er, vice C. M. Roberts, resigned.
May 12, 1871.—Ellas Hobbs, Justice of the Peace 3rd. dis-
trict vice G. E. Flowers, failed to qualify.
May 12, 1871.—Thos. B. Hobbs, justice of the Peace 3rd
district, vice P. Bidgely, failed to qualify.
Oct. 7, 1871.—James Earp, Justice of the Peace 1st dis-
