Mr. Blake moved to reconsider the vote by which the -amendment making the appropriation to St. Edward's School was adopted, Which was adopted. Mr. Blake submitted the following amendment: AMENDMENT PROPOSED. Under head of "Baltimore City," strike out: "To the Reverned Edward Brennan, for the Use of St. Edward's Academy, in the City of Cumberland, to be ap- plied for the support and education of free scholars of said Academy, the sum of seven hundred and fifty dollars." Which was rejected by yeas and nays, as follows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Earle, Blake, Timmons, Carroll, Tuck—7. Crawford, NEGATIVE. Messrs. Compton, Miller, Claggett, Spates, Denson, Sellman, Fields, Williams—9. Henry, Mr. Tuck submitted the following amendment: AMENDMENT PROPOSED. Under head of "Militia," insert, "Provided that no part the said of appropriations shall be paid for Clerk hire." Which was adopted. Mr. Fields submitted the following amendment: AMENDMENT PROPOSED. Which was adopted. |
