The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and delivered. the following message: BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES, April 1, 1872. Gentlemen of the Senate : We have received your message proposing the appoint- ment of a Joint Committee of Conference, to consist of three on the part of the House of Delegates, to consider and re- port upon the amendments adopted by the House of Dele- gates, on the bill entitled an " Act to provide for the intro- duction of a supply of Water into the town of Hagerstown by means of water works, appointing a water Board for that purpose, and authorizing the Mayor and Council of Hagers- town to provide means for the construction of said works, and concur therein. We have appointed on the part of the House, Messrs. Young, Newcomer and Whitson. By order, MILTON Y. KIDD, Chief Clerk. Mr. Downs, from the Committee on Elections, submitted the following REPORT. Gentlemen of the Senate : The undersigned, Committee on Elections, to examine and report upon the election and qualifications of members of the Senate of Maryland, beg leave to report, that they have dis- charged the duty assigned to them, by examing the returns of the election held on the 7th day of November, 1871, in the several counties of the State of Maryland, and in the® several legislative districts of Baltimore city, and have ascer- tained and report that the following Senators have been duly elected, to wit: |
