750 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 30, The House bill entitled an Act to appropriate the sum of ten thousand dollars, or so much thereof as maybe necessary to repair the State Tobacco Warehouses in Baltimore City, Reported favorably thereon. Said bill was then read the second time. Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to whom wag referred The House bill entitled an Act to pay to Charles W. Rankin, the balance of pension due to Sarah Wells, Reported favorably thereon. Mr. Earle moved that said bill be read a second time this day. The yeas and nays were called as required by section 27, of Article III. of the Constitution, and appeared as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Blake, Miller, Compton, Spates, Carroll, Sellman, Claggett, Spencer, Downs, Steiner, Dennis, Timmons, Earle, Tuck, Fields, Wilson, Jump, Williams—19. Longwell, . NEGATIVE—None. Two-thirds of all the Senators elected having voted in the affirmative, The said bill was read a second time. Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to whom was referred The House bill entitled an Act to amend section 40 and 41, of Article XXII. of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Worcester County," sub-title "Elections," as amended by Acts passed January Session, 1868, chapter 80. Reported said bill back to the Senate. Said bill was then referred to Messrs Timmons, Miller and Longwell. Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to whom was referred The House bill entitled an Act to repeal the law imposing the State tax, known as the "Direct Tax." Reported favorably therein. |
