1872.] OF THE SENATE. 727 Mr. Blake, from a Select Committee, reported favorably on The House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, to widen and deepen the channel of the Patapsco river, with amendments. Which were adopted. Said bill as amended, was then read the second time. Mr. Crawford, from a Select Committee, reported favora- bly on The House bill entitled an Act to prohibit the sale or gift of intoxicating liquors, in Tyaskin District, Wicomico county. Which was read the second time. Mr. Compton, from the Committee on Education, reported unfavorably on The House bill relating to the appropriations for school purposes for Wicomico county. And the report was adopted. Mr. Williams, from the Committee on Judicial Proceed- ings, reported unfavorably on The House bill to repeal section 13, of Article LI., of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to Justices of the Peace. And the report was adopted. Also, Reported unfavorably on The bill to repeal section 16, of Article LI., of the Code of Public General Laws, "title Justices of the Peace. And the report was adopted. On motion by Mr. Williams, The Senate concurred in the House amendments, to the bill relating to the County Commissioners of Calvert county, subscribing to the capital stock of the Baltimore and Drum Point Railroad Company.
