payment of interest on State Tax levied on said District for
aid year 1869.
Mr. Biggs, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported-
favorably,
A bill, entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
County Commissioners of Montgomery county, to make cer-
tain improvements upon the Court-house buildings of said'
county, in Rockville, and to levy a tax upon the assessable-
property of said county to pay the costs thereof.
Which was read a first time.
The bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 216, Article IV.
of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "City of Baltimore,"'
sub-title "Elections," and enact the following in lieu thereof,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The bill, entitled an Act giving the sanction of the Gen-
eral Assembly, to a certain legacy, bequeathed by the last*
will and testament of Elizabeth Routzahn, late of Frederick
county, deceased, to the Council of the Evangelical Lutheran
Church in Middletown, Frederick county, Maryland,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed far a
third reading.
The bill, entitled Act, granting the assent of the General
Assembly of Maryland to a bequest made in the last will and.
testament of Elizabeth Bishop, late of Harford county, de-
ceased, to William T. Brand, as trustee, directing him to'
expend part of said bequest in the completion or adornment
of St. Mary's Church, Protestant Episcopal, in Harford
county.
The bill, entitled an Act to provide for an interpreter in'
the Orphans'' Court of Baltimore City,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The bill, entitled an Act to make valid the sale and trans-
fer by the Union Bridge Turnpike Company to the Liberty,
Johnsville and Pipe Creek Turnpike Road Company, of all
that part. of the road of said Union Bridge Turnpike Com-
pany from Union Bridge, Carroll county, Maryland, to
Daniel Wolf's, in Frederick county, and to vest the fran-
chises of said Union Bridge Turnpike Company, or said part
of said turnpike road in the Liberty, Johnsville and Pipe
Creek Turnpike Road Company,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
