Also, The House bill entitled an Act authorizing the State's At- torney of Baltimore City to pay a sum of money to the State's Attorney of Anne Arundel county, as compensation in the case of the State vs. Ellen G. Wharton; Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit- tee on Finance. Also, The House bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Peabody Saving's Bank of Baltimore City, Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit- tee on Corporations. Also, The House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Governor to appoint three additional Justices of the Peace for Balti- more City, Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit- tee on Judicial Proceedings. On motion, ' The Senate adjourned. SATURDAY, March 30, 1872. The Senate met. Prayer by Rev. Mr. Highley. Present at roll call, the following Senators : Messrs. President, Blake, Compton, Carroll, Crawford, Claggett, Denson, Downs, Dennis, Earle, Fields, Henry, Jump, Longwell, Miller, Stephenson, Spates, Sellman, Spen- cer, Steiner, Timmons, Tuck, Wilson, Williams—24. The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved. Mr. Wilson, from a Select Committee, reported favorably, The House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 55, of Article XVI. of the Code of Public Local Laws, title ' 'Prince George's County," and to repeal and re-enact with amend- ments section 2, of said Article.
